Saturday, March 31, 2012 1:00-4:00 PM
This class will cover the basics of recovering your basic wrap-around fabric seat cushion. This is usually a desk or dining chair and requires no previous experience. This is a hands-on class where you will learn how to use basic upholstery tools and easy techniques to reinvent and modernize your dining chairs. You will start by stripping your chair of the old fabric, re-pad or fluff up the old padding. Learn how to cut out the new fabric pieces, position and staple the fabric to the frame to create a professional appearance to your chairs. Bring 1 or 2 chairs to recover and after the class you will have the confidence to complete the others at home. All chairs must be submitted for approval prior to class. Foam is included, but not fabric. Bring two yards of medium to heavy upholstery fabric to upholster four chairs. For extra recycling tips, re-purpose tea towels, curtains or even blankets. This class will give you the confidence to move on to a more complicated piece of furniture.
